| About Us The Dust boutique is an independent boutique based in the heart of South London designing, sourcing and manufacturing with a conscience. The Dust womenswear collection is designed and made in our London studio using renewable energy sources and sound environmental manufacturing processes. The Dust brand is quirky, ethical and environmentally friendly, and we do our best to consider the environment when running our business. The brand has an attitude accessible to all ages combining our own exclusive womenswear label, childrenswear label Stardust and a bold product range sourced locally and independently. Minimising our impact on the environment In our bid to help the environment, the business pays a green tariff for renewable energy, we use low energy lighting and recycle and re-use 70% of our waste. All Dust garments are made from factory surplus fabric, so rather than manufacturing new, we upcycle and use unwanted fabric so no waste is incurred at the cost of the environment. Dust Clothing and Manufacturing The Dust collection is designed exclusively with women's body shapes in mind combining current trends into wearable clothes at affordable prices. All of our garments are made by our own team of highly skilled staff who are paid well above the minimum wage and employed under a permanent contract. All Dust clothes are made on second hand industry sewing machines. The Boutique The look of the boutique is unique in that we use upcylcled vintage units, reclaimed materials and second hand fixtures and fittings, which is not only kind to the environment but looks pretty good too! We stock a wide selection of gifts and accessories in the boutique from independent suppliers, which we scrutinise for their ethical credentials before sourcing from them. Shoes are made from factory surplus fabric and by- product leather, and where possible components are used from recycled materials, for example, recycled tyres for soles. Jewellery is sourced from independent designers, handmade in their own studio with regards for the environment. Leather bags and accessories are made from by-product leather. Stardust Clothing and Manufacturing The Stardust childrenswear label is designed by us and made in India by a small family run business complying with the ETI ethical base code. The t-shirts are then hand printed in our South London workshop with love and care. We are currently moving towards the use of organic cottons and Azo free dyes. At the start of the year the Dust Boutique was awarded Best Independent Retailer of the Year and with our continued success, the future of Dust is set to grow bigger with another shop planned for later this year. We don't claim to be perfect, but we do believe in taking positive steps, however big or small, towards changing the impact the clothing and manufacturing industry has on the environment.
