| Stardust and Dust Ltd is an ethical and independent brand combining two in-house designed collections: children's wear label Stardust and the recently launched Women's wear label Dust. We do our best to consider people and the environment when running our business. All our electricity is from a renewable tariff, we recycle or reuse 70% of our waste, we use sFairly Tradednd hand machinery where possible, use low energy lighting, fair trade tea and coffee and biodegradable cleaning products. We started the company with the Stardust label, founded in 1998 and over 10 years have created a collection of children's clothing that is cool also considers the environment and the people that manufacture the clothes. The garments are made by a small family run business based in India who are working towards the ETI ethical base code. The garments are printed in our own London workshop. We are currently moving towards the use of organic cottons and Fairly Traded dyes. Last year we developed our sister Women's wear brand Dust, an Independent, in-house designed label which is all made in our studio in London. Designed exclusively with Women's body shapes in mind, the collection combines current clothes with wearable designs and affordable prices. The brand has an attitude that is accessible to all ages, with a bold product range. The collection is made from factory surplus fabric and so does not result in the use of any new resources. All the Dust garments are now made in our London studio where staff are paid well above the minimum wage and work under permanent contracts. Where external supplier are used to try our best to source products that are made from designer that have a genuine regards for the world we live in. For example shoes are made from factory surplus fabric, leather by products and soles from recycled tyres. At the start of the year Dust boutique was awarded Best Independent Retailer of the Year and with our continuing success, the future of Stardust & Dust is set to grow bigger with another shop planned for later this year. |
